Brief
Produce a website, including a motion piece and display for David Hookes for inclusion in the 'Adelaide Oval Top 20 moments'.

Concept
Celebrate both 'The Man' and 'The Moment'. Our design was inspired by the Adelaide Oval scoreboard being a heritage icon. The scoreboard informed our colour palette, typefaces and the way the scrolling panels move for motion.
THE MAN: Learn about who David Hookes' was as a person through Hookes' shared memories by his friends and family.
THE MOMENT: An animated infographic with live footage of the moment as a wall mounted screen on the display.

Display
We selected the colours and the typography from the historical Adelaide Oval scoreboard and created our display into two sides of 'THE MAN' and 'THE MOMENT'.  The Headings are the original font created for the scoreboard (Milne). To keep the scoreboard concept and theme running we needed something more easy on the eyes for body text. Therefore, for body text we used Franklin Gothic as it is more legible and easy on the eyes, while being a similar signage typeface to the scoreboards Milne.

Video
We edited footage from the moment and created an infographic motion piece. To visually communicate the moment, we broke down the individual components: 100 runs, 34 balls, in 43 minutes, three 6's hit, seventeen 4's, fourteen 1's & 2's. We did this as a simple way for the viewer to understand the moment.
This footage allowed us to capture and present the emotion by putting the viewer in the spot as if they were witnessing the moment themselves. They hear the commentator, they see what an achievement this is by how many repetitive hits and for how long it all lasted.
AR
An animated augmented reality component was added for the younger audience to enjoy. The animation is a dancing cricket glove for the playful engaging aspect. The glove was modelled and animated in Cinema 4D and brought to life in AR through Reality Composer, where it is tracked to the image on the display.
Process
To make decisions on font sizes and layouts, during the construction process we prototyped by printing the display at real size. To further add the scoreboards detail we laser cut and spray painted a mini scoreboard clock to be placed above the mounted screen. The reason for this being a use for a boarder and as we were referencing the scoreboard, the real scoreboard has the clock placed above it.
